MoMIE project aims at measuring, analyzing, and modeling the mobile Internet ecosystem in Finland. The underlying purpose is to better understand and exploit the increasing value of quantitative usage data accumulated by the market parties. The focus of the project is in the Finnish consumer mobile market and emerging mobile Internet services and applications. The project takes a multidisciplinary approach connecting technical, economic, and human aspects.

The objectives of the project are:

  1. to improve the operating conditions of the Finnish mobile market by providing recommendations and market predictions, and by publishing relevant market data,
  2. to create novel scientific knowledge in the area of communications ecosystem, particularly how new technology and business models affect the well-being of our society, and
  3. to produce high-quality scientific journal articles and topical applied research papers.

The project is managed by the Network Economics research team of the Department of Communications and Networking, at Aalto University of Finland.
